Because it is Canada’s 149th birthday this Friday, New West is playing host to not one, but two events in one day! Get all the details below.

1) New West Multicultural Festival
Friday, Jul 1st | 3.00pm – 10.00pm
Presented by The New Westminster Philippine Festival Society, “the festival is a celebration of the rich cultural diversity that exists in our community today.”
Must Knows:
- Hosted on the festival lawn at Westminster Pier Park.
- FREE family friendly event.
- Music and dance performances from countries like Japan, Egypt, Greece, Plynesia, Kenya, Spain + many many more.
- Families are encouraged to bring a picnic, relax along the riverfront and enjoy the endless entertainment!

2) Canada Day @ River Market + Fireworks
Friday, Jul 1st | 12.00pm – 10.30pm
Presented by River Market and the Hyack Festival Association, celebrate Canada's 149th with fireworks along the boardwalk.
Must Knows:
- 12.00 - 10.00pm: a variety of bands will perform at the stage outsidePaddlewheeler Pub.
- 3.00 - 7.00pm: the Vancouver Circus School showcases their talent with performances on the boardwalk
- 2.00 - 7.00pm: grab the coolest creations with balloon twisting by the amazing Banannie
- 2.00 - 7.00pm: instrument petting zoo by Music Box Academy
- 10.00pm: FIREWORKS
